Summer is here and I don't have a bikini body!

Summer is basically here, if you don't count the past couple of days of cold wind, rain and thunderstorms that are uncharacteristic of May. Normally I wouldn't be worried or mind that I haven't been working out as much as I should because I am not overweight or fat or anything like that. Just not really toned up at all and I have some cellulite going on that I wouldn't be sad to lose. But I'm getting older (24 yikes) and I just can't shake the extra few pounds that I gained over winter like I used to be able to. It's hard to find motivation to get moving when you aren't unhappy about how you look but also aren't thrilled either. I decided that I was going to pick out some women who I think are absolutely gorgeous and have rocking bods and print out a couple of pictures so keep as my motivation. When I go to grab that ice cream that I love so much, I'll take a peek at Nicky Whelan's Maxim photoshoot and maybe grab an apple instead of that chocolate chip cookie dough goodness in the freezer.
Now don't get me wrong. I don't idolize celebrities or want to look like them. I just want to look the best that I can while being healthy at the same time. I realize that quite a few women who are well known to young girls, teens, and women all around the world, participate in some eating habits that wouldn't really lead to a long term, or healthy, outcome (eating disorders, liquid diets, "cleanses", etc.). I use these pictures to keep me on track rather than to starve myself or over-workout. It seems to really be the biggest motivator to me to keep working out and keep eating right and just be healthy in general. I won't ever get rid of the annoying cellulite if I never practice portion control or if I don't workout several times a week.

If I keep a picture posted on the fridge I will remember that I shouldn't really grab that leftover pizza, and instead make a quick salad or make a turkey sandwich.

If I keep a picture posted by the pantry I will grab an apple instead of those tempting vanilla oreo cookies, well maybe I'll have just ONE cookie :)

And most importantly, if I keep a picture posted by my door\computer I will see it everytime I get up and will remember that I really do need to do a workout today, even if it's just for a mere 30 minutes. Getting moving instead of sitting around all day is going to give me results.

I may not ever look like Gisele but I will feel great and look pretty darn good in a bikini if I stay on track!
Now it's time for a cardio workout. Plyometrics here I come!
Disclaimer: All of these images are from a google search. None are mine :)

  18. I idolize celeb bodies and I totally want to look like them. I don't have a bikini body either, but I do have a miracle suit that sucks in my fat and that's good enough for now. Fake it 'till you make it I say. Stopping by from thirsty for comments.

  19. I love that you found what works to keep you motivated! That's the most important part- everyone needs to find the motivation that works for THEM. For me, not having the junk in the house is what works. That way, eating unhealthy is not an option. I've found that it helps my daughters, too. All of the sudden they realize they are not actually hungry- the just wanted to eat. I love your attitude about eating right and working out!

I'm stopping by from Thirsty for Comments Thursday.
